Give Your Hair What It Wants: L’Oreal EverCreme

I received these L'Oreal EVER products complimentary, but all opinions are my own.

Do you ever feel like your hair just has a mind of it’s own sometimes? I’ve felt like that lately with this crazy weather we’ve been having here in Arkansas. My hair doesn’t know if it should frizz up,  dry up or both. (Ugh.)

Thanks to L’Oreal ‘s new EverCreme Sulfate Free Moisture Care System, I can get through this brutal winter and keep my hair looking and feeling nourished all season long. Let me fill you in on the details!

This hair care system is made up of 3 products, EverCreme Shampoo, Conditioner and Renourishing Butter.

L'Oreal EverCreme

Renourishing Butter: I am going to tell you about this one first, because I know exactly what you are thinking. If you are like me, you are already thinking, ‘butter? Yea…probably not for me.’ Ha! Let me just tell you…,my hair is thick thick thick and I shy away from heavy cremes like this because they tend to weigh my hair down making it look limp. (Can you relate?) Well, I decided to give it a shot since I was trying new things and I’d do anything to get rid of my dry, frizzy mess. To my surprise, I LOVED it. I applied the butter on after shampooing and before I finished with conditioner. Um talk about some major softness.

L'Oreal EverCreme Renourishing Butter

The EverCreme Shampoo: I am crazy about this shampoo you guys. It smells incredible and my hair feels so clean afterwards. It is also a cream based product, but like the butter, it’s not a heavyweight on your hair. (Score!)

L'Oreal EverCreme Shampoo

The EverCreme Conditioner: I use the conditioner last, after the butter to seal the deal for moisturizing. I didn’t know what to think about using the butter and conditioner in one washing, but it turned out amazing! I couldn’t stop touching my hair.

L'Oreal EverCreme Conditioner

Now for the details, this EverCreme line is sulfate-free!  It doesn’t contain those harsh salts, dyes or parabens that cause a wide variety of issues. (Can I get an amen?) It’s made up of natural botanicals making your hair feel free, fresh and clean. Say that 5 times fast 🙂

L'Oreal EverCreme Sulfate/Free

I’ve always heard that it’s good to change up your hair care routine every month or so. If you are looking to try something new, I would recommend this new L’Oreal EverCreme trio. Give your hair what it wants! #FreeYourHair

Make This Valentines Day Timeless

This post is sponsored by JORD,Inc., but all opinions are my own.

Oh, Valentines Day. For some, V-day is the ultimate dreaded day and for other’s we just seem to skim by and hope that it passes quickly. (I see you nodding your head over there!) If you ask me, I’ve always thought of it as a silly overrated day where girls expect something mushy from their guys and the guys just participate because society tells them they have to. Am I right?!

I want my man to know how much I love him every single day and it doesn’t take a special day for me to communicate that to him. We love getting each other unexpected gifts on random days and doing date nights in the middle of the week.  But, you know what? We like to make V-day a day for a more creative style date night experience. This is a chance to do something out of the ordinary, to change it up and be creative. For us, it’s all about making new memories and celebrating the old ones from when we first started dating.

Now for the gifts. This is where I always draw a blank. It’s so cliche to get chocolate and roses. (Although, I’ll never turn down chocolate!) And ladies, what in the world do you buy a man on V-Day???? I’m pretty sure that my man would laugh and give me one of those half smiles if I presented him a stuffed bear and chocolate. Haha! I like to think outside of the box and get something that reminds my man how special he is day after day. And that’s not something you can pickup at the grocery store on your way home.  Am I right??

So, for those of you that are stumped and need some creative ideas for your V-Day, I’ve got you covered! Here’s a perfect gift idea and some creative date nights I thought of just for you!

A timeless V-Day gift:

  1. A JORD wood watch. What is more romantic than showing how your time is and always will be his/hers with a new watch? Every time he/she looks down and sees it they’ll remember you. I am so in-love with my #woodwatch . JORD offers some beautiful wood watches for both men and women and if you want to get a head start on this V-day thing, why not get one now? Oh and I can’t forget to mention that you can engrave them with something sweet! (Melt me!)Jord WatchesJord Watches
JORD is hosting a giveaway now until Jan 29th, 2017. and just by entering the giveaway you can get a $25 off code. (Score!) One lucky winner will get a $100 JORD e-gift code! Enter HERE.

Date Night Ideas:

  1. Take a cooking class together. There’s something about an apron and some yummy spaghetti sauce that really makes the night one to remember. Enjoy each other’s company while making a delicious dinner together.
  2. Be a tourist in your own city.  This one is probably my favorite.  I love to be spontaneous and drive around the city finding new restaurants we’ve never tried and exploring the little shops that are popping up all around us. A couple that explores together stays together.
  3. Tackle a bucket list item together.  What better way to make your V-day memorable than to spend it experiencing something you will never forget. And if you ask me, I think it would be so romantic if my man thought of marking something off of my bucket list. How sweet and thoughtful!
  4. Listen to live music. I would take this date night ANYTIME. Going to a local concert or live music night and getting to know someone better is my idea of a great date. The music just makes everything easier and puts us all in great mood. Just make sure he/she enjoys the genre. 🙂
  5. Go on your second 1st date. It never fails, when my husband and I pass by our 1st date restaurant or have a date night there we always reminisce about how our relationship began. It brings back that young love feeling inside of us. Replay the night you first met or your first date for old times sake.

So cheers to Valentines day folks! Let’s make this one the one they’ll never forget.

P.S. if you missed my New Year’s One Word Resolution post, I’d love if you hopped over to tell me what you think about this approach to 2017.

2017 One Word Resolution

2017 One Word Resolution

Just like every year, I sat down with my favorite notebook to begin listing out my New Year’s resolutions.  After just a few minutes, my list was unrealistically long and I discovered that there were many things on the list that kept returning year after year. (sigh) I also noticed that there was a common theme in each one. My list was made up of things I didn’t like about myself or where I found weakness. I wanted this year to be positive and less about who I was tired of being and more focused on how I could be the best me I could be and what that transformation process looked like. So I turned the page and wrote one word: Intentional.

I’m tossing the long list of changes and making 2017 my year to be Intentional.  The idea is that this word will serve as a theme in all aspects of my life.  I hope you will toss your list and join me in picking one word for your life this year. Who says we have to be boxed into that list of corrections for our life anyway?!

Since I am choosing Intentional, I wanted to briefly explain how this will play a role in a few key areas for me and then give you a few words to kick start the discovery of your own word.

Spiritually

First and foremost,  my journey with the Lord is the most important aspect of my life. Without his guidance, nothing is possible. This year, I want to be more intentional than I have ever been in order to deepen my relationship with the Lord.

Relational

I want my husband to know how head over heals in love I am with him every single day. I want my closest friends and family to feel valued. And I want those new people that come into my life over the next 365 days to know that I care about them.

Work Life

This is a big one for me. I juggle many different avenues of “work” in my life. My real 9-5, my favorite – blogging and my most challenging – photography. I want to strive to be as intentional as possible to continue to grow and develop with purpose in each of these areas of my life.

So there you have it. Call me crazy, but this one word will be my 2017 motto, my theme, my anthem, in everything I do. Now the fun part, creating something with that word on it to serve as a reminder to me every day for the next 365 days.

Are you thinking of joining me on this one word journey? If so, here are some other great words to consider for yourself.

  • Consistent
  • Balance
  • Simplicity
  • Disciplined
  • Progress
  • Joy

I am excited to hear what you choose! Tell me in the comments below.

The Latest: December Photoshoots

NOTICE: All photos are my own unless otherwise stated. You are prohibited from using any of these photos unless permission is given by me, the owner.

Checking the mail during the holidays and finding sweet Christmas cards from our friends and family give me the warm and fuzzies! This season has been so busy for us that I didn’t even get our own Christmas cards out the door. No worries though, I’ll just have to make up for it next year. 🙂

I’ve spent the last few weeks leading up to this Christmas weekend photographing some pretty amazing folks and wanted to share some of my favorites with you!

-Meet Tab & Devon-

These two are brother and sister and they make my job oh so easy! Tab and I go way way back to when we were college friends (oh the good times)! I had the pleasure of capturing some shots of them in Fayetteville, AR for their Christmas cards they will be sending across the U.S. to their family!

-Meet Amber & Corey-

This couple here was just the sweetest. I was in love with how Amber’s auburn hair looked in these wintery shots. We scheduled our shoot on what happen to be the coldest day of the year thus far and even caught some snow on the ground. That’s pretty lucky for Arkansas!

-Meet Bailey & Jace-

Does this little mother son duo get any cuter? I mean, I could just take photos of them all day. Jace was just full of energy and spirit that made this shoot even more fun, despite the rainy day. We found a dreamy field that made for a great spot to make some memories.

Mini Chili Bowl Dip

Tis’ the season for holiday parties and family gatherings! Every year for Christmas, we are on the road traveling from one side of the state to the other and boy does that get exhausting! Now, the entertainer inside of me LOVES to have really fresh wholesome snacks for our parties, but there’s just no easy way to to keep those fresh veggies and ingredients good while on a road trip.

Luckily I found one of my favorite holiday must-haves in my Walmart’s fresh veggie section that was pre-made and ready to eat  – guacamole! (talk about lifesaver)  GOODFOODS makes this amazing Tableside Guacamole that is seriously delicious and it’s easy to grab before our holiday parties! Who doesn’t love guacamole, right?! GOODFOODS has created a whole line of guacamole that is always fresh and never heated, made up of real ingredients – just the good stuff.  🙂 Some of my favorites are the Chunky Guacamole, Spicy Tamatillo, and Pineapple Pablano.  You can find even more flavors here.

Today, I am going to #ShareTheGoodness and show you how we used GOODFOODS Chucky Guacamole on our holiday spread for the non-traditional snack, Mini Chili Bowl Dip.

Mini anything is my favorite, but with this cold weather, nothing beats a warm bowl of chili topped with a dollop of fresh guacamole! Let me introduce you to my Mini Chili Bowl Dip with GOODFOODS guacamole, served with black bean and blue corn chips. This makes the perfect little appetizer or midnight snack for those waiting for Santa to arrive!

Using your family’s secret chili recipe or even canned chili (I know, crazy right? That stuff can be good!) make up a pot full. Pull out some small bowls and layer in your favorite ingredients. Some of my picks are refried beans, corn, and ground turkey. Top it with GOODFOODS guacamole and serve! Yummy!

To find a store with GOODFOODS near you visit their site here. And if you just can’t get enough GOODFOODS, you can see their full line of products here.

Happy Holidays!

Giving Holiday Grace

What is it about the hustle and bustle of the holiday’s that causes that extra layer of stress on us? Do you know what I’m talking about? This year I am taking a step back and allowing myself some grace this season, because I want to enjoy this time and not let it fly by me while I’m just a big ball of stress. Who is with me??

I have found that this year has been just plain different. It seemed like a race to get the Christmas tree up and then it was a race to get the Christmas shopping done early and not to mention the pressure to get meaningful gifts. Ahh – I’m mentally exhausted. I want my house to look picture perfect and my first pecan pie to be delicious and everyone to get nice gifts, but there’s only so much we can do perfectly, right?! (Can you tell I’m a perfectionist yet?) Continue reading Giving Holiday Grace

Holiday Pet Portraits

img_6540

Christmas is just right around the corner folks and it’s the season of giving back! This year, a fellow Northwest Arkansas photographer, Sarah Bingham and I are teaming up to shoot holiday pet portraits and a portion of the proceeds will go to our local NWA animal shelter!

I don’t know about you, but walking through an animal shelter pulls at my heart strings! Those shelters do a lot for our community of dogs and cats needing forever homes and what better way to spread some love this season than to support them in a simple way!?!

SO, if you are planning to get your last minute Christmas photos taken, why not include your pup or kitty and allow us to donate to the shelter on your behalf?!

Sarah and I are currently booking pet portrait sessions in the Northwest Arkansas area. To save your spot, fill out the contact form below or email me for more details at hello@signatureblair.com

A Minimalist Christmas

minimalist-wreath

We are officially just a few weeks away from Christmas! The tree is up, the wreath is hung and I’ve started listening to Christmas music every chance I get, but besides those traditional things, this year is going to be a little different.

As I thought about what we wanted or needed for Christmas, I looked around the house… and thought long and hard….but I couldn’t think of a single thing. I was at a loss when the family asked us what they could get us, and then it hit me. We didn’t need anything. Our home and hearts are full. So this Christmas we decided to approach gift giving in a new way.  The minimalist way. Continue reading A Minimalist Christmas

Mayan Culture Adventure

Jungle in Mexico
Jungle in Mexico

Now that we are married and back to normal life, I am finally able to share with you our adventurous excursion in the Mayan village while in Mexico on our honeymoon.

We were so excited to explore Mexico in our one short week we had on our honeymoon, so we went on an excursion to learn about the historic Mayan culture and get outside of our resort for a bit. Camera in-hand and backpack loaded up, we were ready for a full day of adventure and that’s exactly what we got!

The excursion started early at 8 am. We loaded up on a bus and off we went. There were a few other groups with us on the tour. A family of 5, a family of 4, another newlywed couple and us. The bus filled quickly and J and I had to sit up front with the guide. (The best seat on the bus if you ask me!) We had a front row view of everything! Continue reading Mayan Culture Adventure
